I hope this kind of post is acceptable!
In my reading of Galatea I tried to think about whether or not we have contemporary equivalents to the boys plays, and what the experience--the look and feel of one--might have been like.
Professor MacKay mentioned the audience's sense that because children are innocent, one couldn't blame them for any shenanigans on stage or in what they were saying, and immediately I thought of this clip. There's no little boys dressing up as gods or girls, but I think this does give a sense of what these boys plays might have been like to watch. Enjoy.
